Work Environment Management

In order to ensure a safe and pleasant work environment, LG Chem requests outside experts to assess harmful factors in the work environment twice a year in the first and second half of the year. The company reviews the work environment by establishing internal standards that are stronger than legal standards.In addition, the company constantly makes efforts to ensure that all employees work in pleasant work environment by conducting audit and prevention activities for musculoskeletal disorders and conducting self-inspection of local exhaust systems. The company will continue to strive to achieve the highest work environment safety level in the industry.

  • Wastewater management
    LG Chem applies water quality target management at work sites to reduce discharge of water pollutants and realizes wastewater reduction through thorough monitoring. In order to achieve water quality management targets and minimize environmental impacts from wastewater generation, we are making various efforts to develop wastewater enrichment technology, improve existing wastewater treatment systems, and strengthen water pollutant management.
  • Atmospheric management
    LG Chem continuously strives to reduce air pollutant emissions.In addition to complying with the tightening air conservation regulations, we are also conducting various improvement activities, such as continuous environmental monitoring using cutting-edge technology and removing odor from workplaces by controlling odor sources, to minimize the impact of pollutant emissions on the atmosphere.
  • Waste management
    In order to minimize the environmental impact of waste generation, LG Chem has established and operated a “waste reduction strategy” to reduce the amount of waste generated and the amount of final waste through recycling. By establishing and operating a “one-stop integrated waste system”, major work sites such as those in Yeosu and Daesan continuously monitor all stages of waste generation, distribution, and discharge in real time, and continuously reduce waste generation by analyzing the causes of waste increase.
